Facilitators

Stephanie Manara is a practicing regenerative mycologist and the founder of MushBarn. She began dedicating her life’s work to the fungal queendom ten years ago, on the search to discover soil sciences and the mysteries of where humans interface with the biosphere. The entirety of her current work is geared toward building MushBarn, an organization that aims to cultivate community in natural abundance, and facilitating a space to build relationships with our fungal kin with an emphasis on teaching, sharing, and producing applied mycology practices. She is also a visionary artist with a focus in illuminating earths mycelial layers to reveal more connection.

Dylan Lynch is intrigued by the potential to be discovered in mycology at various scales. Currently, COO of MushBarn and responsible for many facets including all things production. After years of curating a snowboard company with community at its core, practicing permaculture tek, homesteading in the foothills of Sierra Nevada, and pursuing his interests in soil biology, he has found a home in the fungal kingdom. Shifting his focus to mycology, Dylan currently manages MushBarn’s mushroom production while innovating new growing techniques for operational success. He aims to highlight the benefits of working with fungi by providing communities with resources to integrate mushrooms into daily practices and expand our understanding of mycology, locally and beyond.

Elizabeth Leece recently joined MushBarn as their Executive Assistant. She initially became enveloped into the world of fungi deep in the Santa Cruz mountains while stumbling upon the magic and wonders on the forest floor of the coastal redwoods. Studying Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at UC Santa Cruz, she focused her studies on macro-fungi and their diversity, patterns, and relationships throughout the forest. From taking myco-classes, joining myco-communities, and working at a Bay Area mushroom storefront, she has dedicated her livelihood to resemble mycelial networks: connecting communities, transferring knowledge, and healing the earth. Since graduating, Elizabeth has re-integrated to her roots in the Western Sierra Mountains and shifted her focus to bringing culinary and medicinal fungi to her beloved home in Northern California. She is currently homesteading at a ranch in Grass Valley; focused on regenerating soil health, understanding soil biology, and educating about the importance of mycelial networks beneath our feet.
